Emma (full name Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson) was born on 15th April 1990 in Paris. That's also where she lived until the age of five. After her parents' Jacqueline and Chris Watsons' divorce, she moved to Oxford in England along with her mother and her brother. Emma started visiting a primary school with optional theatre courses.

In 1999 came a few people from an agency to her school to pick out a few children for the auditions for the film version of the book success called Harry Potter. Young Emma got suggested by her theatre teacher. A simple photograph soon escalated into an invitation for an audition in a couple of weeks. In the end, Emma had to audition eight times in total in order to get the role of Hermione Granger. Later, she was invited into David Heyman's (the producer) office and got told that she was the 'prefferred candidate for the role of Hermione'. Emma was very pleased with the message, although she had no idea what it meant. J.K. Rowling, who co-worked on the film adaptation really cared about the harmony and co-operation between The Golden Trio and so Emma had to go through several different screen-tests to determine if the chemistry between her, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint really worked. What was left was taking a photograph of a trio we know so well and to send it into the papers. And that's how Emma's carreer as an actress started.

Through the ages of the Harry Potter success, she concentrated on becoming a better actress under the commands of the directors, first Chris Columbus, then Alfonso Cuaron, Mike Newell and finally, David Yates. Her first trial as an actress outside the Harry Potter world was a small film called Ballet Shoes from the British iTV. Emma gained new experience as she was only used to the blockbuster Harry Potter and now she had to transfer onto low-budget film.

She did return to Harry Potter, of course. It's only year 2007, which means that The Order of the Phoenix just came out and there are three more films to shoot (a.k.a. a clever move by the Warner Bros that was not just the question of money). In 2008, Emma dubbed the Princess Pea in the animated film The Tale of Desperaux.

Harry Potter became a legend over those years. All the strings led to the pompeous finale. All child actors grew up, the adults grew old and some, unfortunately, passed away. For Emma, the last wrap (June 2010) was like an end of an era and as a symbolic gesture, she decided to cut her significant bushy mane in July 2010. She said herself that most women cut their hair when they go through a breakup and she was going through a Harry Potter breakup and that it was time for a new look.

In October 2010, she shot a film called My Week with Marilyn, where she played a small character of the costume designer Lucy (5 minutes of screen time in total). She has also met her fellow actors from the Harry Potter films - Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) and Zoe Wanamaker (Mme Hooch).

It has started to be a bit over the top for Emma around that time. Besides acting, she also worked as a model for Burberry Autumn/Winter 2010 collection as well as for People Tree and she became an icon of Lancome. And of course, there was her education. The most important trait for Emma was keeping her status as an ordinary human being. She didn't want to be someone else because of her fame. She passed her GCSE's (most important British exams) with eight times A* and twice A, which is nearly the best result possible. She also signed up for the Ivy League Brown University in the US (the reason here was the option of studying more subjects at the same time). In this time, Emma seriously considered leaving her occupation as an actress.

She got back on board thanks to Stephen Chbosky, the writer of the book The Perks of Being a Wallflower, who was currently working on the film adaptation. Emma told her agent not to contact her unless it was necessary. When she got the screenplay, though, she was completely convinced and she took the part of Sam straight away and thanks to Stephen, she was back in business as an actress in 2012 alongside Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller.

And here we go towards year 2013 with two appearances on the big screen. First, as a celebrity burglar Nicki from the Bling Ring gang from the film going by the same name, on which Emma co-worked with Sofia Coppola and which was filmed based on real events. And the second time, when she portrayed herself in the dramatic apocalyptic comedy written by Seth Rogen and Mark Wahlberg This Is the End.

The year 2014 so far meant a huge debut for Emma in Darren Aronofsky's biblical-nonbiblical Noah. Darren pushed her levels as an actress and the result was a brilliant performance that did not fade alongside elite Hollywood actors like Russell Crowe, Jennifer Conelly or Anthony Hopkins. Her step-brother was, again, portrayed by Logan Lerman and her film partner by Douglas Booth.

She graduated from the Ivy League Brown University in May 2014 with a degree from English Literature. She has attended the ceremony along with her mother and a bodyguardess in disguise. She placed a selfie with the typical hat on her official Twitter account.

Currently, Emma is busy with filming Alejandro Amenabaro's thriller Regression as well as she dedicates herself for women rights and empowerment as a Goodwill Ambassador of the UN.

Ne. Použil to ve scéně. Takže tak :)
